Bikaner is a tourist destination town that offer glimpse of unique art and craft work from the region. Stone work is a regional speciality and so is the "Bikaner Bhujia" which is savoured all across India, if not world wide, by Indians.
The connection to Bikaner from New Delhi is via Shahpura. Here the actual rally competition will begin after the cremonial flag off on February 14, 2010 at New Delhi. From here the rally will travel to Sheruna, about 50 kms short of Bikaner for a re-group. AFter the balance sections the rally will wind up at Bikaner for the night of February 15, 2010.

Facilities: Airport: Bikaner is not open for commercial flights and nearest airport is at Jodhpur or Jaipur, about 250 kms away.Railway: The railways are undertaking major rewamp of lines in this region. Since gauge conversion work is not yet completed Bikaner can not be accessed directly from New Delhi. Service: Many authorised service stations have presence in Bikaner as are many service mechanics available to attend to general repairs. Most are located in market near Bus stand around Urmul Circle next to our night halt at Lalgarh Palace.Spares: Spare are available for car makes that are generally used in the area. Maruti, M&M, Tata etc. For others the availability is not certain but the town has now many private vehicles and so spares are more or less available. Else overnight shipment from Jaipur can be organised.
Medical: Government Hospital and Military Hospital offers full facilities as does Haldiram Heart Care Centre. Many private clinics and nursing homes are available. General shopping: Market around petrol pump on Urmul Circle round about offer most of essential shopping.
Hotels: Many comfortable hotels are available for all budgets.
Communications: Full range of communication is available including internet cafe's.
ATM & Credit Cards: Many ATM's abound and most hotels accept credit cards. Other establishments also accept credit cards but not all the petrol pump or the service shops.

Deshnook: The famous "rat" temple is about 40 kms from Bikaner on road to Jodhpur.
Junagad Fort: Located within the city this was the seat of power for the rulers of this area.
Gajner Fort: About 30 kms is hunting lodge cum fort of the ruling dynasty of this area.
